At the heart of our products and our operations, is a passion for a better quality of life.
A Peabodys decision is one made with care and consideration for the
happiness of our customers, for the wellbeing of our team and for the benefit of the
environment around us.
In just a word, we care for sustainability.

CARING FOR OUR CUSTOMERS
Some dash in and grab a coffee, and others need somewhere to linger over lunch. Whatever day our customer is having, they’re guaranteed a warm welcome, healthy and delicious food and a relaxed ambience.
Modern, accessible comfort
Peabodys Coffee shops offer a beautifully designed, modern environment to unwind in – if only for a few moments. Table seating for small groups, bar stools for one, and sofas for kicking back on – and always accessible through a wide door with space for disabled access.
Ethical sourcing
All of our tea, coffee and hot chocolate is certified organic and Fairtrade.

Thoughtful staff
Peabodys staff know their regular customers’ orders without asking and are patient with those that need more time. We believe that day to day life in a coffee shop trains us to be welcoming, compassionate and constant.
CARING FOR OUR PEOPLE
We have a diverse team of managers, baristas and kitchen staff from across the globe. Some have been with us more than a decade, whilst others stay just a short while. Regardless, all team members are offered professional barista training throughout the year. More advanced skills are offered as staff develop and their interest in hospitality grows.
Full-time staff are entitled to free lunches and 30% discount in every store. We stage several team-building events per year.
US & THE ENVIRONMENT
Taking a responsible approach to hospitality is vital, not optional, if we are to play our part in preserving our planet for future generations. Acting with integrity by choosing to reduce our carbon footprint and waste while supporting environmentally sound suppliers are central to Peabodys company culture.
Local Suppliers & Less Deliveries
To reduce the carbon footprint of our supply chain (and support local producers), we rely on local London based businesses for fruit and vegetables, fresh pasta and many of our drinks and kitchen ingredients. In 2019 we dramatically decreased the number of vans delivering to our sites, reducing food miles and CO2 emissions.
No Room for Food Waste
We’ve enlisted the brains of Karma, a food surplus app which enables our customers to purchase food at a 50% discount at the end of the day, that would have otherwise gone to waste.
New Value from our Coffee Waste
Our spent coffee granules are repurposed as fertiliser within the hospital grounds of St George’s University Hospital.
Plastic? Less, Thanks
Plastic bottled water has been removed from our catering menu.
Plastic straws have been banned at all Peabodys Coffee shops. The packaging for sandwich, panini and ciabatta has been minimised as much as possible.
And The Plastic Left, Recyclable, Please!
Our cardboard and plastic catering packaging is fully recyclable.
Why not compostable? Because today commercial composting facilities are not widely available yet. But we are keeping a close eye on such an infrastructure, to make a prompt switch when the benefits will outweigh those of recycling.
More Recycling
Segregated recycling bins are in use at all Peabodys Coffee Shops. This makes it simple for customers to play their part with us.
Tap Water Stations
We have free, drinking water stations at our coffee shops – so that customers can fill their bottles free of charge. (Currently suspended due to Covid-19).
Reusable Cup Discount
We’ll knock 20p off every coffee if you bring your own reusable cup. (Use of reusable cups currently suspended due to Covid-19, although discount still applicable on presentation of a reusable cup).
